A Labor Of Love & Turning A New Page

by Blanca Stella on July 11, 2010

orange-butterflyLife is an ever evolving process. This blog has been a catharsis for personal change during my most difficult times. Because of this blog, I was able to get inspired by new ideas and in the process, created a new life for myself. Many new doors have opened for me, yet still my life, as everyone’s, in each and every moment, we continue to evolve.
Since this was a two year labor of love and was touched by those that came to visit, I will always have a special place in my heart for this blog. But for the moment, I am concentrating my efforts on a project I have been working on slowly since last year, a Spanish inspiriational blog called Mi Caminar.
It is very fitting with this picture I took of a beautiful sunset…the day closes…yet the sunshine rises a new the next day.

Orange Butterfly Sitting Still

by Blanca Stella on May 22, 2010

orange butterflyI was so excited to finally get a close up picture of this beautiful orange butterfly. It is one of the butterflies that come from an orange and black caterpillar on my passion vine.  They flitter about so quickly zipping all over the place and high up in the air that by the time I get my camera, they are out and about somewhere else. What is so beautiful about these butterflies is that one the underside, they have these white specs, and when their wing span is open, you mainly see the black specs.

I love that we are in Spring because I see so many butterflies coming out again. My computer is a few feet away from the door that leads out to the yard and luckily I have some big windows where every now and then I can dash out and snap a picture.

Passion Flowers On A Passion Vine

by Blanca Stella on May 21, 2010

This beautiful purple flower is blooming all over my passion vine right now. It is a host for zebra caterpillars and another orange caterpillar which I don’t remember the name( not monarchs).
A friend of mine on Facebook, Anya Nadal (http://www.anyanadal.com)is an artist and she absolutely loved a picture that I posted. so I told her that I would take more pictures so she can create a painting. Hence this is why I am creating this set.
I took over a 100 pictures this past week to capture the essence. Some are repetitive, but I wanted to make sure the artist got enough details. Hope you enjoy.
The pictures with the red flowers are fire bush which is a separate plant that is nectar for bees and butterflies. The passion vine is a host where the butterflies lay their eggs for the caterpillars to grow to prepare to become a chryssalis and then emerge as a  beautiful butterfly.

The Immense Picture

by Blanca Stella on May 18, 2010

I miss my blog. I have been up to my ears in details lately. I’m putting so much effort to get new clients and luckily my efforts have paid off. Just less than two months ago, I thought I was going to move and work in Commercial Real Estate Management again. (See post Follow Your Passion in April).  When that didn’t work out, I put all my attention to my Social Media Consulting business which I started to get off the ground last year.

It was easy to focus on this again because it is something I enjoy doing. But to make it work like a real business requires stepping it up a notch, and that requires a ton of  detail. Presentations, brochures, new business cards (finally!), not to mention keeping up with all the new tools in Social Media. I am happy where I am now, although I wish I had more time to look at the big picture. On top of that in the midst of it all, I was still applying for jobs in case I found something better that would bring home better bacon. [continue reading…]

Beach Reprise

An Afternoon At The Beach Finally!

It has been almost six moths since I came to the beach, my haven, my inspiration, one my top 10 ways to find peace.
I am publishing this via a WordPress app on my Droid. I am listening to the sound of the ocean waves as the wind rustles thru the palm trees.
While I do hear some construction noise in the background it doesn’t take precedence to this bliss.
What do you do to drown out the noise and find some peace?

Yellow Butterfly In My Garden Yesterday

Yellow Butterfly In My Garden Yesterday

If you notice on my blog, the last two months, I have mainly been sharing pictures. The reason my writing took a pause was because I was offered a job in January managing Commercial Properties in another city. It was a very good job offer dollar wise, but I never started it and it fizzled at the last minute right when I was ready to pack up and leave out of Miami.fizzled. I couldn’t blog about my move because the person I was replacing didn’t know about it. So I had to stay quiet. That was bizarre for me to be quiet online since I am used to twittering and flittering about in the social networks. I love to communicate!

My son was going to stay here in Miami and even though he is a bright happy 17 year old. I had a hard time with that, but I did the emotional heart wrenching letting go as if he was going off to college one year earlier. So now because the job didn’t work out, I get to enjoy him one precious year. [continue reading…]
