The Immense Picture

by Blanca Stella on May 18, 2010

I miss my blog. I have been up to my ears in details lately. I’m putting so much effort to get new clients and luckily my efforts have paid off. Just less than two months ago, I thought I was going to move and work in Commercial Real Estate Management again. (See post Follow Your Passion in April).  When that didn’t work out, I put all my attention to my Social Media Consulting business which I started to get off the ground last year.

It was easy to focus on this again because it is something I enjoy doing. But to make it work like a real business requires stepping it up a notch, and that requires a ton of  detail. Presentations, brochures, new business cards (finally!), not to mention keeping up with all the new tools in Social Media. I am happy where I am now, although I wish I had more time to look at the big picture. On top of that in the midst of it all, I was still applying for jobs in case I found something better that would bring home better bacon.

Today I saw Retweeted a tweet from @astro_mike , a NASA astronaut who frequently tweets. Ok, his tweet was about  “Space Potty”. He said it was a very popular tweet.  While looking at this funny You Tube video, I came across another video of the NASA You Tube Channel. I took some time out of my details and got absorbed in the big picture, galaxies, dark matter, space, stars, etc. It took me, for a few minutes to the the  REALLY big picture. We are so small in the scheme of things, yet we are a part of the immensity of it all.  And look, I took a moment to write on my blog, which I dearly miss. So what, I will go to sleep half hour later tonite with the added inspiration I get from writing.

Hello Blanca!
I'm glad to hear that you are taking some time for yourself to do what's important to you. Sadly, this isn't always possible, but we should seize the opportunities when we can.
