I dashed to the computer in the middle of my exercise at home to write this post. I have my favorite music, DJ Tiesto,  in the background. The song is called Ride. It is from the album, “In Search of Sunrise.”  For those that have known me on Twitter,  I am always tweeting that it is DJ Tiesto time when I am about to start exercising at home  when I don’t have time to go to the gym. Somehow, it opens my heart and fills me with inspiration and motivation.

Anyway, today I have been totally focused on getting a lot of  to do’s for my brother’s project.  I had gotten behind  in the last couple of weeks due to my focus on real estate. I was researching webinar conferencing and  ended up on a website that does podcast search. My mind started thinking: “How Am I going to accomplish my own projects in six months?” After all, if I want to inspire others, I have to walk my talk and completely live it. I have lived my pain and losses and have had complete blessings in the process. That is what this whole blog is about. I am talking from my own experience. It’s real and organic. That is what I want to share. My heart is open. I have worked on my self from the inside out. It is time that I get out and make my dreams happen. (more…)

  • Not Dreaming Is Painful

coral-roseMy mini meltdown yesterday was not just about being  jilted by another realtor who wanted to take the commission all for himself. Though it did take the wind out of me a bit, I have learned to stomach it.

Yesterday also happened to be the day that some trademarks were about to be abandoned if I didn’t extend them. I had registered some trademarks with my sister two years ago when we started our dreams. I had the website related to these trademarks  linked to this site because I assumed we were going to work on these projects together.  Back in May, right after Sparky died, I wrote an open letter to my sister, and unlinked the website to this blog. It is sitting somewhere in cyberspace, still active, but stale. (more…)

  • Is It Really All About Love?

its-all-about-luvI had a mini meltdown today. Before you’re wondering if I am about to vent, I already did. I meditated in the afternoon, went to the gym, bought sushi & sake at the groceries, read some interesting links on twitter and now I am back to “normal”.

I normally like to enjoy my weekends  relaxing at the beach and reading a good book. But yesterday all day, I spent it showing properties to my client that hired me to list their home. No homes really piqued their interest except a foreclosure that we couldn’t get into because the realtor didn’t answer and it wasn’t on the MLS (multiple listing service).

Since I know this foreclosure and REO business, I told my clients that this realtor probably wanted to take the whole commission for himself or only show it to his select agents. Of course this proved to be the case.  I had warned them that it would be next to impossible to get this house. My client called  the number after I suggested her to. By a stroke of  amazing luck, the realtor is a current client of hers. He made it very clear to my client that he was not going to cooperate with me. (more…)

  • Who Am I?

Busines CardsOne of my best friend that I mentioned in this post said to me last month that she was worried about my twittering.  She was afraid that it was becoming an obsesssion. She obviously doesn’t “get” twitter and now she is asking me how to twitter. My first tweet was in December after I moved my real estate office to my brother’s location to save on expenses. I was 100% focused on getting bank listings at the time. I have been mainly working from my home.

My home is a quiet space. I rarely turn on the TV. To take breaks during the day, I go out to my butterfly garden or put on some music and start exercising on my stationary bicycle and Pilate’s or simply go to the gym.  Because of Twitter and my fascination with technology, I connected with new and interesting people. I am following a lot of people that probably will never follow me and I really don’t care. I only look at my new followers about 1 x per week. (more…)

  • Where Is Home?

Home Sweet HomeI just came back from seeing the movie Julie & Julia. It was very inspiring for me for two reasons: I used to love to cook gourmet food & I love to write. The movie is about the true story of two women, Julia Child and a young married woman who just turned 30 who starts blogging about her passion, food.

When I was about 18 years old, I started reading recipes from Gourmet Magazine. I would read about 50 recipis and visualize them in my mind. I would then pick out one that I would imagine would taste the best and try it out. I started with desserts. Later, I moved on to full meals and even buffets. I even did the whole buffet for my own baby shower 16 years ago. (more…)

  • A Few Good Hats

hatI went to an Association of Women in Communications meeting a few weeks ago. The topic was about the job environment. One of the speakers, a writer, author and journalist showed her five or so business cards. They were all different. She wears many hats maneuvering this market.  I had thrown in the towel to real estate because the business was dry as the Sahara. I was happily doing my brother’s project  in July even though I haven’t firmly established if this is going to be full time. Take a look at what I have done so far with his website.

I got the website going, fan page and still have alot of content to add. Since this something new that I am doing for money, I am  getting my feet wet and basically proving my abilities and skills to a family member.  I treat him just as I would any employer. I am committed to my responsibility and am giving it my all. The good thing is that my work schedule is flexible. I am doing most of the project from my home. (more…)
