With less than a week until my contraption comes off my foot, and feeling cocooned in my home for 5 weeks, I decided to go out to lunch today with my son. As he was about to step out the door, he saw a flash of light and seconds later a roaring thunder that sounded like a bomb. I had never heard lightning strike so loud. Our hearts were racing, we got scared out of our wits. Sparky, my Labrador’s legs were shaking and we decided to stay in. Needless to say, my laptop computer got fried to a crisp, even though it was grounded. The external drive connected to it also got fried.(Good thing I also have this desktop)
The night before I had been feeling vulnerable, yet strong and peaceful. Its a feeling of nervousness and excitement at the same time. It’s wasn’t a feeling of anxiety or worry. So when this lightning struck, I stopped and felt the power of nature as my heart was beating a mile a minute.
When wake up calls “strike” you, you better pay attention. See the signs and allow them to unfold. If you are feeling stuck in your life, then it’s a sign that you need to give some room to give something up(like an old way of thinking), and allow something new to come in.(take the time to pause and reflect).
What happens is that the newness is well, just that, new. That’s where the nervousness and excitement comes in. You don’t quite fully see “it” yet, but you know that something new is just around the corner. It’s like when you have been out of town for say a week, and you are missing your child like crazy or a spouse or partner you are in love with and can’t wait to give him or her a huge bear hug. It’s that feeling of embracing love. It feels wonderful — its real, raw and organic
