  • Something is Stirring in America

flag-eagle-carI have never been much of a politically involved individual as I have found myself to be this past week. As the Olympics came to an end, and as we finished watching the performances of Americas heroes such as Michael Phelps and Shannon Johnson and  many others, I was on a high. Throughout the Olympics, I was glued to the television set each night as I watched these athletes perform and reach to accomplish the dreams that they have had, many as young children. I was in awe by the idea of how all these athletes  have had their heroes journey, many overcoming many obstacles to get to that point and never giving up because that is what it takes.

Then the  Olympics gave way to the Democratic National Convention and again I found myself glued to the TV each night.  I listened to the story of Barack Obama, an unlikely candidate and a Black American  running for the office of President of the  United States. I listened to his speech last night and could not help but feel my passion reignited once again to dream and hope for a better tommorrow. Yes I know that this is what candidates are supposed to do, but something happened to me as I heard him say.    ” Something across America is stirring.” All I could hear myself saying at that moment was, my God I hope so. He spoke of the American Dream of what we are all hoping for:  a better life for our families and the next generation to come.

I felt myself getting excited and feeling that energy run through my veins. Wake up America!!!!!  We all need to resurrect our Hopes Dreams and Desires. I could feel myself saying and feeling this as I heard his words and felt them all throughout my being. We have all become way too complacent to reaching for the stars  and reaching for those hopes dreams and desires of which heroes are made of.

We are living in a world of uncertainty, facing issues of economic recession, global warming and continued political unrest in the Middle East. If anything, what Barack Obama did last night in his speech is reignite those dreams that we can as a nation, as a community and that I can as an individual have those dreams of a better tommorrow.

Someone said to me that America was not ready for a Black president. Well for one, he is of biracial parents so he is of both races.  I thought what a perfect metaphor, what a perfect way to be that bridge. When we can look past the color of our skin and focus on each other as individuals, then we are on our way to healing ourselves, our relationships and this nation. We will really be on our way to Resurrecting the Heroes that we are. We will be on our way to acomplishing all our hope dreams and desires. Yes I do believe it is possible. All it takes is that one spark.

And to quote a less than politically influential character, buzz light year: ” To infinity and beyond!”

  • Do 2 Voids Make a Whole?

What happens when you are with someone who is wanting a relationship to fill a void vs. sharing because they are filled? How can you get to the point where you  can be the latter? Is it possible? How can you know in the beginning of a relationship if it is the first – having someone to fill a void. I suppose that when you are doing the same(filling a void), then it would be hard to see. Do 2 voids fill up or better yet, how can 2 voids become filled? (more…)

  • Divine Relationships Start With You

Bird in Blue SkyI was reading in the paper the other day that there are less divorces here in Miami compared to last year. One of the reasons  is because of the economy most people cannot afford to have two households. When equity was rising, you could cash out and buy something else. Right now, it’s not an option for most people. The article also states that it is possible that some couples may end up working it out. We have given up too easily in marriages. The marriage counseler says “I think we throw away our relationships too easily.”
I for myself was divorced in 13 years ago when my son was only 2 1/2. The intention of the marriage full fledged in Catholic church was to stay for a lifetime. When I got pregnant, I had a conscious intention that day to conceive. For me, that was divine. And today and every day of his life, my son is my most precious gift.  He is the one that motivated to keep going when everything broke apart in the divorce and all my challenges.  He has been my source of not giving up. • Mission Statement

My son was cleaning out his drawers last night and when I woke up this morning, he had left an orange paper  with a green piece of index card sized attached to it. He had a religion project a couple of years ago maybe in 7th or 8th grade. I had totally forgotten about it. I wanted to share it,  because it came at a perfect moment since I had wanted to write a post yesterday about spiritual growth and didn’t know how to start.  Its a family mission statement. Here it is: (more…)

  • Hang on Tight to Your Dreams

Last August, I was gifted with being able to work with my sister full time. Our main focus was to work the real estate market to sustain us and on the side, we developed a plan for our future besides the real estate. I was worried about my ankle hurting so much and the requirement of showing property. I had been visioning for the last two years simply finding a way to share my inspirations that I had had after my car accident five and a half years ago. The good thing is that my sister is a licensed mental health therapist and because we are family, we were able to create some amazing concepts for living  a life free of suffering, pain and loss. • Faith and Trust in a Higher Source

How am I going to create real estate deals in the next months sustain me in this critical time where I literally have hit bottom in my finances, like many realtors have. I know many have hit bottom because I see it in the listings I had. I know the personal stories of the people first hand. (more…)
