I just came across this amazing video of Patrick Hughes Henry. This young man was born without eyes. By his second birthday he was playing the piano. His father says his son is his hero. This is truly an inspirational story. Here is the link to his website.

Memorial Day, Remembering Our Heroes

Memorial Day Yesterday, I wrote the title of my blog Mango Connections Falling on My Doorstep. My routine in the morning this past week is getting up to see how many mangoes have fallen on my lawn. Cristian asked me why I gave all the good ones away. I had saved about 10 cracked ones for myself. I told him that there were plenty more on the tree and lots of fruit on the cracked and bruised ones.
As I opened the door a few minutes ago, there was a big semi broken & bruised mango right on my doorstep this time. It just made me think, how many families are wishing today,Memorial Day, that their loved ones who are away at war, arrive at their doorstep no matter how bruised and broken they may be. A Hero in My Eyes
I just saw the episode on Oprah of this woman who had to have her arms and legs amputated after an infection took over her body. Her attitude moved me to tears when I saw that what kept her together was her focus on her family. She had just given birth to a daughter and wanted to go home after rehabiliation and give her newborn daughter the attention she needed.
These kind of stories make you pause and value what is really real and important in life. What a real hero she is. It is beyond words.

A Pilots Quick Thinking

Just reading the story myself wells up in me the amazing feeling that yes, they are all alive. Why is that so? Why does it take a near death to jolt you into that clear minded awareness of the power of our life, our aliveness. We live in a world of constant distractions and worries especially now with the state of the economic affairs. These instances give us a pause to remind us that our life is not to be taken for granted. We each have a purpose, no matter how small. Maybe the chaos that is happening in the world economically is simply a shift for us to pause for us to restructure and reshape our lives with more meaning. (more…)

Time for a Pause
I created this site with a lot of love and nurturing with my sister, Maria. We are collaborating as a team and are in the process of creating some great programs. We both are working in our individual “day” jobs, have kids and many obligations. To not cause stress to each other and our families, we are allowing this site to flow organically and in harmony. We spent one year conceptualizing, visioning and dreaming. In our fast paced world, “time” is an issue. For this reason, we are taking a short break of a month to further nurture our dreams. (more…)
I have never been much of a politically involved individual as I have found myself to be this past week. As the Olympics came to an end, and as we finished watching the performances of Americas heroes such as
