My brother sent me this video that he took on his phone. It is an implosion of a building in West Palm Beach. It was a condo building that was an eyesore since 2004 because of hurricane damage. When I looked at the video, I said “Wow!” Here is a link to some other videos taken that day.
It reminded me kind of what happened to me in some of my life situations. You take time to build, create a structure and boom, it all comes crumbling down in a flash. I use this building as a metaphor for so many breakdowns that occur because of divorce, financial instability etc… Sometimes the floor gets sweeped up under us. But if the foundation is strong – a strong heart with integrity and a strong sense of self-esteem, then anything can be rebuilt.
I had to pull from the roots and throw out two of my milkweed plants two weeks ago. They were infiltrated with a huge amount of bugs. The leaves were yellow and mucky and a mold was starting to form on the stems. In this past month, I haven’t taken much time to look at my milkweed. Normally I scruff them off with my hand when I see a slight infiltration. You can’t put pesticide on milkweeds because the caterpillars will die.
