Mosaic in Lobby of A Condo Called Mosaic In South Beach
Mosaic In Lobby of A Condo in South Beach Called Mosaic

It’s been just over 21 days since my last post bringing in the new year. They say it takes 21 days to develop a new habit. Luckily, I have the habit of eating well and exercising, so I didn’t have to put those on my resolution list.

For me, it is now creating a structure and more order with all the new opportunities that have opened up for me. It’s continuing to put together the pieces of the puzzle like the picture of the mosaic in this post.Hopefully, one day it will all of sudden take shape. I trust it now much more. (more…)

Coral Rock Stairs At Matheson Hammock Beach in Coral Gables

I’ve worked so hard in these past two years to maintain my sanity during all the chaos in my life. With a clear mind, open heart and new connections that I have made, I finally feel today that a breakthrough is happening.

At many many networking events and tweetups, I ask people whose business  also  has slowed to a crawl,  how they managed the chaos. Usually the answer  I get is being in nature and faith.

I have shared in the last year on this blog where my peace has come from. It has been a long road.  Yet, I know  I will look back sometime in the future to this time and realize that this time gave me amazing lessons. Humility is the main one. (more…)

Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly In My Garden Today
Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly In My Garden Today

The other night I went to a party with one of my best friends. We have been friends from high school. She too has encountered a huge change in her career as a mortgage broker for over 20 years. She transitioned this year into insurance sales which has required a tremendous amount of studying. It is a sales job in a whole new field.  She shared with me the stress the prior job loss caused and huge effort it has been to support her family. Even though she made a lot of money in the past and had to start from scratch again, she is dedicated, focused and confident that she will succeed. And I know she will.

I told her to take a break for a week to gather her energies up again because she was feeling a bit stressed. She hasn’t exercised in a while or gone out too much in nature to zen out lately. Her main focus has been studying to learn the new business.  One of the ingredients in my de-stressing that I mentioned in my last post is being in nature. We are lucky to have beautiful sunshine and beaches here in Miami. I push myself to go there a lot when I get frazzled. Besides that, one of my greatest joys has been my butterfly garden. (more…)

Caterpillar in My Garden April 19, 2009
Caterpillar in My Garden April 19, 2009

Since I am talking about my brother being bipolar, I want to first say that I love him very much. I don’t know all the medical terminology or current ways of dealing with bi-polar. I just know what it is to have a family member live with this. I suppose one day he will write his story. He is only one year apart from me and is turning 50 next week. So the story is long and also inspiring.

His life took a bad turn while he was in high school during the ’80’s when he indulged in many kinds of drugs. After many years of treatment in hospitals, he found a new path through meditating. He was able to be without Lithium for the past  20 years. It was a remarkable turnaround with no drugs or alcohol. He became a total vegetarian and even stopped dating for many years. He almost lived like a monk, except that he is not a recluse. On the contrary, he is very extroverted and is Mr. Communicator and knows many people in the community and in all kinds of social media. • A Woman that took a Negative into a Positive

This story about a woman who had her eye crushed and  is not a  photographer and makes her living in the visual arts is a great example and inspiration of someone who transforms a negative into a positive. These stories remind us that even with our limitations, we can accomplish much. Check out the story here. http://www.miamiherald.com/entertainment/story/819066.html

  • Its a Beautiful Day..New Life Abounds

I took this picture couple of months ago. I was crouching down taking a picture of the caterpillar against the sky when all of a sudden, this butterfly appeared and I snapped the picture. It was a magical moment for me. That is how life should be…full of many magical moments…why not?

Today feels like a refreshing day full of sunshine.
