  • Who Am I?

Busines CardsOne of my best friend that I mentioned in this post said to me last month that she was worried about my twittering.  She was afraid that it was becoming an obsesssion. She obviously doesn’t “get” twitter and now she is asking me how to twitter. My first tweet was in December after I moved my real estate office to my brother’s location to save on expenses. I was 100% focused on getting bank listings at the time. I have been mainly working from my home.

My home is a quiet space. I rarely turn on the TV. To take breaks during the day, I go out to my butterfly garden or put on some music and start exercising on my stationary bicycle and Pilate’s or simply go to the gym.  Because of Twitter and my fascination with technology, I connected with new and interesting people. I am following a lot of people that probably will never follow me and I really don’t care. I only look at my new followers about 1 x per week. (more…)

  • A Whirlwind in 10 Days

    Blanca Birthday with Family
    Blanca Birthday with Family

Life never ceases to amaze me.  Since I have made a big emphasis on this blog to trust and let go in the midst of chaos, I am very conscious that I have to be walking this talk. A lot has happened since I announced the shedding of my realtor identity at the AWCS meeting 10 days ago.  In a nutshell, I got offered two  internet marketing consultant jobs, saved a turtle, got beautified with skin treatments, Farrah Faucett, EdMcMahon and Michael Jackson died, got a new puppy, celebrated my birthday for two days with my family and friends  and  got a referral commission I wasn’t expecting.

Because the sun is shining and beckoning me to absorb the rays of this beautiful day, I am going to go out and continue enjoying my weekend with my son. And hopefully this week , I can update you on details of some of my stories. The new addition to the family is Maya. She is a mix of Chihuahua and Alaskan Malanut. It is a very odd combination. I took one look at her eyes and fell in love with her. She is a gift from my friend, Larue, also my plumber for 15 years.

Also, another visible chryssalis is shaping it wings and will become a butterfly in about a week.

  • Transformation Takes Time

Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly In My Garden Today
Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly In My Garden Today

The other night I went to a party with one of my best friends. We have been friends from high school. She too has encountered a huge change in her career as a mortgage broker for over 20 years. She transitioned this year into insurance sales which has required a tremendous amount of studying. It is a sales job in a whole new field.  She shared with me the stress the prior job loss caused and huge effort it has been to support her family. Even though she made a lot of money in the past and had to start from scratch again, she is dedicated, focused and confident that she will succeed. And I know she will.

I told her to take a break for a week to gather her energies up again because she was feeling a bit stressed. She hasn’t exercised in a while or gone out too much in nature to zen out lately. Her main focus has been studying to learn the new business.  One of the ingredients in my de-stressing that I mentioned in my last post is being in nature. We are lucky to have beautiful sunshine and beaches here in Miami. I push myself to go there a lot when I get frazzled. Besides that, one of my greatest joys has been my butterfly garden. (more…)

  • Mango Connections Fall on My Doorstep

    Mangoes From My Two Trees
    Mangoes From My Two Trees

(Note: May 26th I am starting a category called Mango Connections with this post. I will put posts here of serendipitous events or anything that pops up in someone’s life that is a sign to be led in a new direction. If you have any, I welcome you to post them here. I do believe there are many signs every day in answer to our questions or thoughts. The key is: do we pay attention and believe in them?)

I just finished sipping a mango shake that Cristian and I made.  Today was a very interesting day. I woke up this Sunday morning to see how many mangoes I had on my lawn. Yesterday it rained all day and I had a box full of mangoes, at least 30 of them. Since last week, the ripe mangoes have been steadily falling, about five per day.

Now the combination of the ripe mangoes and the downpour of rain caused a box full of fresh ready to eat mangoes.  As I stood out on my lawn grabbing this luscious fruit, I noticed my neighbor across the street with his young daughter. “Want some mangoes?.”  “Sure”, he replied. And off they went with at least a dozen of them. (more…)

  • Gratitude in My Heart Prevails Anxiety

red-flower1I started this blog with the idea of starting a business in publishing with my sister.  We have a layout of a book that was supposed to be written a year ago. Maybe the book needs more time. (It is different than the manuscript I wrote myself). If you read my last post, I have let go of the plan we had, at least for now.

To create a new business while still holding on to your other business or work requires a tremendous amount of effort, focus and time. There are alot of sacrifices to make if you want to move on to something different. I want to do something different not only as a back up plan, but because I truly have the passion in my heart to inspire people. What better way to inspire, than to not give up on your dreams in the midst of great challenges.

I haven’t given up on my dreams. They simply have been revised. One needs to have flexibility in order to survive what is being thrown at you. I had another  real estate deal fall apart last month, when I thought things were getting better. And then…Sparky… So this month, in a few short words have been very heavy.  (more…)
