My Peace Watch A Birthday Present From A Friend
My Peace Watch – A Birthday Present From A Friend

Last year, on July 15th, a huge lightning hit in my neighborhood. It was so loud and scary that Cristian & canceled our plans to go out. I wrote about it here. Luckily we were fine. Unfortunately, my whole computer and external drive got zapped. What bummed me the most was that I had over six months of recordings from two years ago when I was developing  the projects with my sister, Maria.

I had figured it wasn’t meant to be.  Part of the focus in the talks was family patterns that we carry and how they are  imprinted in the choices we make in our lives. With her 30 years of experience as a mental health therapist, the input she gave was very valuable. (more…)

I stayed home working on my projects this weekend besides doing  real estate work on both days. I decided to place back the link, (My Heart Project page) to my project site where I want to put the inspirational podcasts & CD’s and books.

So now what? There is so much to do. I was barely able to blog here before while I was looking for a job.  Things are more settled now. Maybe my mind is more free with less stress. Am I going to be able to pull it off?  Will I be able to get my manuscript finalized, finish a book proposal, create the characters for the children’s books, create the  podcasts and so on. When I did my countdown clock, I said I was going to do one thing per day.

This requires sacrifice. I canceled going to the movies with a good friend last night. I am happy to say that I got an inspirational video with Jeanine Mason of So You Think You Can Dance last week when I went to my friend’s photo shoot. It got me really psyched and  will be the first video interview for my project site. Milkweed Seeds I Planted in My Butterfly Garden

This week was one of renewing my dreams. Inspiring others is not difficult for me. It is something I have always loved to do. What I have found challenging is all the detail work to create a product from scratch.  Also, it feels so vulnerable. Through this blog, I have been able to find my own voice and be comfortable with it on a more open platform. I have connected with many people in a very real way and have enjoyed it a lot.

I realized this week that all my yakking  to my son in the last years has paid off.  In one of my meltdown moments, I told him that I prefered to go to some tiny efficiency, work for someone and not have to think so much of how to put all this together. He told me that it was a cop out.  Of course, moving into an efficiency would mean that he would have to move in to his father’s house. That is definitely something I don’t want! And now he was the one inspiring me. (more…)

  • Is It Really All About Love?

its-all-about-luvI had a mini meltdown today. Before you’re wondering if I am about to vent, I already did. I meditated in the afternoon, went to the gym, bought sushi & sake at the groceries, read some interesting links on twitter and now I am back to “normal”.

I normally like to enjoy my weekends  relaxing at the beach and reading a good book. But yesterday all day, I spent it showing properties to my client that hired me to list their home. No homes really piqued their interest except a foreclosure that we couldn’t get into because the realtor didn’t answer and it wasn’t on the MLS (multiple listing service).

Since I know this foreclosure and REO business, I told my clients that this realtor probably wanted to take the whole commission for himself or only show it to his select agents. Of course this proved to be the case.  I had warned them that it would be next to impossible to get this house. My client called  the number after I suggested her to. By a stroke of  amazing luck, the realtor is a current client of hers. He made it very clear to my client that he was not going to cooperate with me. (more…)

  • Where Is Home?

Home Sweet HomeI just came back from seeing the movie Julie & Julia. It was very inspiring for me for two reasons: I used to love to cook gourmet food & I love to write. The movie is about the true story of two women, Julia Child and a young married woman who just turned 30 who starts blogging about her passion, food.

When I was about 18 years old, I started reading recipes from Gourmet Magazine. I would read about 50 recipis and visualize them in my mind. I would then pick out one that I would imagine would taste the best and try it out. I started with desserts. Later, I moved on to full meals and even buffets. I even did the whole buffet for my own baby shower 16 years ago. (more…)

  • A Few Good Hats

hatI went to an Association of Women in Communications meeting a few weeks ago. The topic was about the job environment. One of the speakers, a writer, author and journalist showed her five or so business cards. They were all different. She wears many hats maneuvering this market.  I had thrown in the towel to real estate because the business was dry as the Sahara. I was happily doing my brother’s project  in July even though I haven’t firmly established if this is going to be full time. Take a look at what I have done so far with his website.

I got the website going, fan page and still have alot of content to add. Since this something new that I am doing for money, I am  getting my feet wet and basically proving my abilities and skills to a family member.  I treat him just as I would any employer. I am committed to my responsibility and am giving it my all. The good thing is that my work schedule is flexible. I am doing most of the project from my home. (more…)
