  • My Foot is Free…Getting There

Yesterday I got the halo off of my foot. All in all, the pain wasn’t so bad as I thought. My friend Dan, had given me a good visual to do when the pins were being taken off. The visual was to say thank you  to the pins for supporting my ankle during this time of healing. The doctor had to use pliers to cut the pins so the structure could be removed and then the pins were taken out. (more…)

  • Starting & Re-igniting the Fire

Have you ever been on a camping trip and needed to start a fire? Did you know that there is a specific way to ignite the fire so it is able to grow? On my first trip many years ago to the out doors, I thought it was just getting a bunch of logs together and setting them on fire. But as I watched someone with more experience than I methodically put the logs in the form of a tepee with space in between each log I was amazed. One of the most important things she told me is the fire must have room to breathe,” you must approach this with intelligence and respect, you cannot smother it or it will not grow and the match that ignites that fire will die.” (more…)

remodeling-our-nation1Have you ever done a remodeling job in your house? Remember the experience and the frustration? This is how it usually starts for me, I start to get an idea about a project that I want to do because I have become tired of the decor or it is outdated and old and needs remodeling. The wonderful idea usually at some point turns into what feels like a disaster and a never ending project. As you live in the dust and the mess of the debris (if you have not been smart enough to move out) you start to question your sanity and “what were you thinking!” (more…)

  • Feeling Vulnerable

With less than a week until my contraption comes off my foot, and feeling cocooned in my home for 5 weeks, I decided to go out to lunch today with my son. As he was about to step out the door, he saw a flash of light and seconds later a roaring thunder that sounded like a bomb. I had never heard lightning strike so loud. Our hearts were racing, we got scared out of our wits. Sparky, my Labrador’s legs were shaking and we decided to stay in. Needless to say, my laptop computer got fried to a crisp, even though it was grounded. The external drive connected to it also got fried.(Good thing I also have this desktop) (more…)

The purpose of creating and naming this site Resurrect Your Hero is that we feel that everyone has the potential to overcome obstacles, adversities, challenges, pain and suffering with the right frame of mind and attitude and rise above them. Circumstances in our lives are all different. When I was growing up my mom used to always say, “Someone else has a greater cross to bear.” In other words, others may be experiencing greater challenges than whatever we may be going thru in a particular moment. • Massage and Gambling?

In an article in the Miami Herald Newspaper this week, the newest fad in the Casino craze here in South Florida is to provide massage therapy for gamblers who have been gambling at the poker tables for long periods of time. In an effort to KEEP, and the key word here is keep, the gambler at the table this service is now being offered on site at the casino so there is no need for the gambler to get up and take a rest.
